Council leader Caitlin Bisknell met up with High Peak Borough Council’s five apprentices at Buxton Town Hall last week to find out more about their roles during National Apprenticeships Week.

Three of the apprentices Ashley Tinker, Darren Beale and Nicholas Knowles work in property services as a brick layer, and electrician and a plumber, Lucy Witty is an accountancy apprentice and Jon Pickering works in customer services and is completing a business administration NVQ.

Cllr Bisknell said: “Apprenticeships are a fantastic way of combining learning a profession and gaining qualifications with earning a salary and I’m delighted that local young people and the Council are benefitting from these opportunities.”
