Scores of jobs will be created when a new convenience store opens in Chesterfield town centre.
A Morrisons M Local shop is set to rise from the ashes of the former HMV premises in Vicar Lane Shopping Centre.
The national chain has vowed to recruit local workers to fill about 20 jobs at the new store.
The supermarket believes it has spotted a gap in the market for a convenience store which offers more fresh food as opposed to just tins and toiletries.
Laura Stubbs, of Morrisons, said: “We are keen for our stores to be knitted into the community and into local life.
“Our focus is very much on fresh food.”
Vicar Lane Shopping Centre said the Morrisons M Local shop is expected to start trading on September 9.
In a shock collapse, music retailer HMV entered administration at the start of the year.
The well-known name – which employed 12 members of staff at Vicar Lane Shopping Centre – was one of several high street victims to the recession recently.
The 92-year-old company announced that it was entering administration after failing to agree a new deal with its banks.
