STUBBING Court Training Ltd’s apprenticeship programme is offering opportunities for anyone interested in starting a career working with horses.
Their apprenticeships provide on-the-job, practical training from top-class equestrian professionals with a wage at the same time.
SCT, of Ashgate Cottage, Old Brampton, Chesterfield, is well-known and greatly respected in the horse world and offers support and training to both apprentices and their employers, taking great care to place young people in an environment in which they can thrive and learn.
The benefits of an SCT apprenticeship include: Hands-on, practical experience in the workplace; A real wage; A recognised qualification; Good future employment prospects within the equine industry.
Many employers complain that equine colleges do not equip their students to cope with the demands of life in the real world — but SCT’s apprenticeships claim to deliver experience and qualifications that employers really want and need.
Olympic event rider Mark Kyle, who runs a large competition yard in Leicestershire with his wife Tanya, said: “We have successfully worked with Stubbing Court Training Ltd for the past six years. We have several working students and find with the excellent help and support provided by SCT the Apprenticeship programme allows apprentices every advantage to gain experience and knowledge to a high standard, giving them the practical skills required to work on any professional yard.”
As well as top eventing, dressage and showjumping yards, SCT also has very good contacts with riding schools and livery yards.
An apprenticeship takes approximately 12 months to complete and leads to a work-based diploma in Horse Care and Management, and qualifications in First Aid,
Health and Safety and Maths and English.
Stubbing Court Training Ltd also offers an Advanced Apprenticeship. SCT has received many awards for its work and is rated “Outstanding” by Ofsted. Visit www.stubbingcourttraining.com orphone (01246) 566193 for more information.
