A festival for all things green and environmentally friendly is set to encourage more Peak District residents and businesses to live, work and enjoy the area in sustainable ways.
The Bakewell Green Festival is to be held on Saturday, July 12, at the Agricultural Business Centre, in Bakewell.
It will be a free, fun, family day out with stalls, activities, music, dance, drama, talks and demonstrations.
The organisers are looking for individuals, groups, organisations and businesses who would like to run stalls, provide activities, give presentations, or demonstrate sustainable crafts, skills and lifestyles.
One of the organisers, Jeni Edwards, said: “We want to hear from people who can share their joy, knowledge and skills in sustainable living to help make this a great day for encouraging others to be greener.”
The festival is neither fundraising or profit–making and has benefited from a grant of over £3000 from the Sustainable Communities and Businesses strand of the national park grant scheme.
