A HIGH Peak woman has been appointed as the new deputy chairman of Stockport NHS Foundation Trust.
Carol Prowse, of New Mills, will help oversee a £275m annual budget and the treatment and care of thousands of patients from a number of areas including in the High Peak.
She said: “I am delighted to take up this position and I look forward to championing the health needs of local people in my new role.
“The NHS faces considerable challenges but I am confident the excellent staff will work hard to continue delivering our values around quality and safety, communications and service.”
Mrs Prowse was born and educated in the High Peak and worked in banking in London before returning to the area. She is a director and company secretary of the High Peak Theatre Trust, which operates the Buxton Opera House.
Mrs Prowse enjoys working with young people and has been closely associated with the internationally-renowned Kinder Children’s Choirs of the High Peak for more than 16 years.
