A TOP aerospace company has clinched a deal to take over 80,000sq ft at a South Normanton business site and given the region’s economy a well-needed lift.
SOS International, which reclaims and recycles aerospace materials, originally took 15,000sq ft of space at the Langham Park development, at Berristow Lane, South Normanton.
But now it has signed up to a total of 80,000sq ft at the site thanks to surveyors FHP Property Consultants who have handled a series of deals in business locations around the M1 J28 area.
Langham Park spokesman Finn Mitchell said: “We were delighted when SOS International first decided to move into Langham Park because it meant we had an endorsement from a major, American owned company operating in the regional economy.”
SOS International has become a leader in the development of specialist reclamation and recycling programmes including the processing of metals.
Peter Hashmi, SOS International chief financial officer, said: “We chose Langham Park after a careful selection and it has become a home for our European operations.
“There were two criteria - a strong location and good security - and it has proved ideal.”
FHP chartered surveyor Laura West praised Langham Park, near the M1 and the A38, after it has been renovated and is hoping to welcome other businesses.
