CHESTERFIELD-BASED architects Frank Shaw Associates have been celebrating a double anniversary after 40 years in business with 30 years of support from practice manager Elspeth Cunningham.
The award-winning practice has designed many local buildings including Springwell Community College, Netherthorpe and Hollingwood Schools, as well as two Derby fire stations and other community sites.
They won a British Council of Offices award for their Oxfam global headquarters and have designed offices for companies such as Rolls-Royce, British Gas and Orange. In 2008 their office building in Alnwick for DEFRA was the first to achieve the highest award for sustainability from the internationally recognised Building Research Establishment.
Ongoing involvement in healthcare projects include hospital buildings in Derby, Chesterfield, Sheffield and further afield.
For over 30 years they have been at the front of computer-aided design and currently utilise the very latest 3D Building information modelling software to visualise and co-ordinate each element of their designs.
Frank Shaw Associates recently celebrated 30 years service from Elspeth Cunningham who was with the practice when they moved to Penmore House, Chesterfield, and has seen the company grow to include 30 staff and a Cambridge office.
