Two young people are taking their first steps towards a career in the manufacturing sector after being awarded places on Hope Construction Materials’ Apprenticeship Academy.

Daniel Repton, 17, from Bradwell, has joined the company’s Dowlow Quarry, near Buxton, as a mechanical apprentice, while Hope’s cement works at Hope has welcomed 17-year-old Henry Wilde, from Chinley, as an electrical apprentice.

Jim Verity, Human Resources Director at Hope Construction Materials, said: “The scheme will combine in-class education with plenty of hands-on experience.”
