HELPING employers increase their knowledge about recruitment and disabled job applicants is one of Bolsover District Council’s latest initiatives to support both local businesses and residents.
The council has arranged a free half-day training workshop on 14 September at the Bolsover Assembly Rooms.
Trainer Penny Melville-Brown, of Disability Dynamics, said: “This is a chance for public, private and voluntary sector employers to catch up with some important changes made by the Equality Act.
“The session focuses on the practical implications, reducing risk and explaining the support that is available.
“There will also be two sessions in October on mental health in the workplace - a really significant topic when about a quarter of the workforce will have such conditions at some time in their lives.
“Attendees can also receive free consultancy on the disability aspects of their employment policies.”
The session is an ideal opportunity for human resources staff or anyone involved in recruitment.
