FIREFIGHTERS battled through the night to extinguish a blaze at a block of business units in Matlock.
The fire is believed to have started in one of the units inside Johnson’s Mill, at Two Dales, Matlock, about 9.30pm, on Tuesday, May 22.
A Derbyshire fire service spokesman said: “Businesses at the site include a car sprayer, mechanics and a picture framer and the blaze is believed to have been started in one of the units on the ground floor.
“The fire spread to the second floor and firefighters gained access by internal stairs to fight the fire with water jets.”
Firefighters from Matlock, Wirksworth and Bakewell were called out with an aerial platform from Chesterfield fire station.
A fire service spokesman added: “An ambulance was requested to attend after a member of the public suffered burns to his arm.”
Firefighters had to battle the blaze into the early hours of Wednesday, May 23, and a fire service inspection of the site was scheduled to take place.
