BRIMINGTON: Increased membership of luncheon club

The chairman of Brimington Luncheon Club, Christine Brown, reports that the club has successfully opened with an increased membership. Meals are served every Tuesday at 12 noon in Brimington Community Centre and all new members are welcome to come along.

Meals cost £3 and consist of a fresh meat lunch followed by a pudding with refreshments.

She has expressed her thanks to the following loyal volunteers who give their time every week to enable the club to provide a hot meal to all residents of the Brimington community: cook, Lindsay Waterfield; treasurer, Joan Hutchinson; Denise Bennett, Mike Burdett, Carol Hormell, Rose Kennell and Dorothy Riley with caretakers, Geoff (Sam) Weston and Ian Smith. Afterwards the Evergreens Club provide an informal get-together where members enjoy outings and shared afternoons including bingo and club competitions.
