TWO people have been arrested on suspicion of possessing cannabis with intent to supply after police and housing officers smelt the drug during a routine visit.
Officers from the Staveley Safer Neighbourhood Teams and Chesterfield Borough Council’s housing department visited the property on Grove Way, Brimington on Monday, June 13.
They found four suspected cannabis plants, growing equipment and a number of bags of suspected dried cannabis. Officers also seized cash from the house.
A 21-year-old man and a 22-year-old woman were arrested on suspicion of possessing cannabis with intent to supply.
They have been released on bail pending further inquiries.
Sergeant Lee Welsby, who is in charge of neighbourhood policing in the Staveley area, said: “We are working alongside the council and other agencies to stamp out drug use in our communities.
