THE MUCH-LOVED Chesterfield Bridge Club is six decades old.
Despite being one of the smallest bridge clubs in Derbyshire, the group is well-known for its success, producing excellent groups of strong players, both young and old.
The club’s founder members included Margery Edmunds, daughter of Derbyshire Times’ founder Wilfred Edmunds, and Dorothy Eyres, of Eyres Furnishing.
To celebrate its Diamond Jubilee, the club is hosting an open ‘board a match’ competition.
Teams are invited to enter this open competition, which is being held on Sunday at Tapton Golf Club, on Crow Lane, from 10.45am.
