BREAKING NEWS: Police say rail death is non-suspicious

The death of a man who was hit by a train in Dronfield this morning is being treated as non-suspicious.

Medics and officers from British Transport Police (BTP) and Derbyshire Constabulary were called to track close to Dronfield station at about 8.10am after receiving reports that a man had been struck by a Plymouth-bound train.

The man, 47, was pronounced dead at the scene.

A BTP spokesman said: “His death is being treated as non-suspicious.

“A file will be prepared for the coroner.”

The spokesman was unable to release any more details.
