Breakfast on jazz music

Bakewell Oxfam Supporters Group invite you to a Jazz breakfast with the music of The Steve Salfield Band at the town’s Medway Centre on Sunday, October 7.

What better way to spend a Sunday morning than eating a sumptuous continental breakfast to the cool sounds of mellow jazz. Bring your family and friends, relax, chat or read the papers which we wil provide.

The Steve Salfield Band is a talented quartet of local professional jazz musicians. Steve, on tenor and soprano saxes has played not only in contemporary jazz groups, blues and rock n roll bands, but also in classical orchestras.

Wendy Kirkland on keyboard is a well known pianist, organist and vocalist who leads her own band, The Organic Trio. Pat Sprakes plays double bass and guitar and Clive Loveday plays drums.

You will hear old standards, original compositions as well as some unusual tunes from a variety of sources. For more details see www.stevesalfield,com

A continental style breakfast with tea, coffee, croissants, cheeses, cold meats and more are included in the event which runs from 10.30am to 1pm.

Tickets can be purchased from Bakewell Book and Gift Shop or reserved from Jude (01629) 815469. Adults £8, children under 16 and students £5. Under 5’s free. All proceeds will go to Oxfam.
