Members of the Ichthus Canoe Club Chesterfield enjoyed a week camping in the garden of the club chairman at the start of the school holidays.
Many activities were organised by the club’s coaches which included paddling on the rivers Trent, Derwent, Washburn and Mersey and a training session on the Chesterfield Canal. For many this led to being tested for the 2 star BCU qualification at Walton Dam.
As well as canoeing and kayaking they were also able to take part in climbing, bouldering, tomahawk throwing and archery.
A great time was had by all with hot sunny weather most of the week. Thanks were expressed to all who had organised the events and to the club chairman Pat who had organised the food.
