BRAMPTON: Boys Brigade has fun at Hesley Wood Scout Activity Centre

Boys and Girls from the 2nd Chesterfield Boys’ Brigade (based at Storrs Road Methodist church) along with officers and parents travelled to the Hesley Wood Scout Activity Centre to enjoy a day of adventurous activities along with youngsters from other companies from Sheffield, Worksop, Rotherham and Matlock.

The day was planned to celebrate Founder’s Day and the 130th anniversary of the start of the Boys’ Brigade.

The day started with everyone meeting at Chapeltown Methodist Church for a bacon or sausage buttie breakfast before walking to the Scout Centre half a mile away.

Each company took their colour (flag) to walk behind.

At the centre there was the opportunity for all to try climbing on the climbing wall, challenge themselves on the (muddy) obstacle course, enjoy the thrill of the Cresta Run and make their way round the indoor maze.

On the field were various activities including goal shoot, space hopper races, nerf guns and crafts.

At the end of the afternoon everyone gathered in the outdoor chapel for a short worship session.
