Bradwell man in Ashley Cole ‘choc ice’ tweet probe

Derbyshire police are investigating an alleged racist tweet made by a Bradwell man about Chelsea footballer, Ashley Cole.

The Twitter user sent a message to Cole’s former England teammate, Rio Ferdinand, brandishing the defender a “choc ice” for sticking up for John Terry in court.

Rio Ferdinand, whose Twitter name is @Rioferdy5, responded to the remark, saying: “I hear you fella! Choc ice is classic. Hahahahahahhha!!”

He has since removed the comment from the social networking site.

A police spokesperson said: “Derbyshire Constabulary has received complaints from members of the public regarding alleged racist comments made on a social networking site.

“These concerns will be fully investigated to establish whether any criminal offences have been committed.”
