POLICE are warning residents to be on their guard after a bogus water board official conned his way into a home and stole cash.
The offender struck at a woman’s home on Orchards Way, at Walton, Chesterfield, about 4.30pm, on Friday, March 18.
A Derbyshire Constabulary spokesman said: “A man called at the woman’s home and said he was from the water board.
“He worked his way inside and while the woman was distracted it is believed that money was taken.”
The offender was described as being aged in his 20s with black hair and wearing a grey jacket.
