Body in hedgerow believed to be that of missing man Michael Peach

The body of a man found in a hedgerow is believed to be that of missing Michael Peach, police said this morning.

Mr Peach, 67, left his home in Cuttholme Road, Chesterfield, at about 10am on Sunday.

Officers found the body on Linacre Road, Chesterfield, after receiving a call at 3.30pm yesterday.

A spokesman for Derbyshire police said: “We believe the body is that of Mr Peach and we’re continuing to liaise with his family.

“A formal identification is yet to take place.”

There are not thought to be any suspicious circumstances surrounding the death, the spokesman added.

Officers closed Holmebrook Valley Park yesterday afternoon as they carried out enquiries.
