BLACKWELL: Three donations decided at Wesley Guild’s AGM

The Wesley Guild at Blackwell Methodist Church closed its current programme with the annual meeting. The Rev Derek Kellington presided, assisted by secretary Brian Bennett. It was reported that a collection of 5p coins for the Nigeria Health Care project had raised a further £200. It was agreed to make donations of £50 to the Green Gables Cheshire Home at Alfreton, £40 to the Wesley Guild and £150 to the church.

It was agreed to make donations of £50 to the Green Gables Cheshire Home at Alfreton, £40 to the Wesley Guild and £150 to the church.

Guild members will once again be visiting the Cheshire Home to lead a carol service at Christmas.

Officers elected: presidents, Brian and Sandra Bennett, Sue Stamenkovic, John Needham, Brenda Smith and Godfrey Patrick; secretary, Brian Bennett; treasurer, Hilary Patrick; speaker finders, John Needham (social), Margaret Iball (devotional), Hilary Patrick (community service) and Maureen Garrett (literary).

The meeting was followed by refreshments.
