POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a motorcycle passenger died following a road traffic collision with a lorry.
The Yamaha motorcycle was travelling along the A6 road between Ashford-in-the-Water and Taddington, about 2.10pm, on Tuesday, when the collision happened.
A Derbyshire Constabulary spokesman said: “We’re looking to speak to anyone who may have seen either of the vehicles involved before or at the time of the collision.”
The motorcycle rider, who was aged in his 40s, suffered critical injuries and was taken to Sheffield’s Northern General Hospital but his female, pillion passenger, aged in her 40s, suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at Chesterfield Royal Hospital.
Police revealed how the motorcycle had been travelling towards Bakewell and the Scania lorry had been travelling in the opposite direction at the time of the collision.
