Almost 1,000 walkers stepped out for the Jane Tomlinson Peak District Walk at the weekend.

Walkers of all ages took part in the event on Sunday, choosing from the five-mile mini trekker route, the 14-mile Hope and Glory route or the 25-mile Dambuster route.

All of the walks started from Hope and were organised by Jane Tomlinson’s Walk for All, part of the legacy of the fundraiser and campaigner Jane Tomlinson, who lost her fight against cancer in 2007.

Those taking part were encouraged to raise funds for a cause of their choice but official partner charities of the event included Edale Mountain Rescue Team, Diabetes UK, the RSPCA, Macmillan Cancer Support and the Jane Tomlinson Appeal.
