Big-hearted youngsters made all the right moves to fund a treat for needy schoolchildren abroad.

Big-hearted youngsters made all the right moves to fund a treat for needy schoolchildren abroad.

Beavers and Cubs from 3rd Brampton St Thomas’ group raised £216 for the Smiles Foundation through sponsored events including a hop, a dance and good deeds.

The children decided that they wanted the money to be spent on taking some of the children from Tileagd Community School, in Romania, out for the day.

Thirty Scouts and leaders from the group will be visiting Romania in July next year, where they will be working with the charity.

They will be helping in a variety of different ways, such as delivering food parcels, painting in the school or home for the elderly, helping to renovate housing, laying paths or cutting wood to keep families warm throughout the harsh cold winter.

The Scouts will be raising money towards this trip and are looking for sponsorship. Anyone able to assist this should contact widdowson.ben@gmail.com;
