Chesterfield’s E-Cigs Shop is holding an on-going fundraising drive for Ashgate Hospice.

Staff and friends had a splashing time when they plunged into a bean bath for sponsor money and donations on October 5. Six brave bathers each took the plunge in exchange for £20 pledges for the hospice, on Ashgate Road, Old Brampton, Chesterfield.

The shop, which provides electric cigarettes for people trying to wean themselves off smoking, has run an event every Saturday in October and has so far raised about £700.

Customers were able to buy a tin of beans to put over the bean bath volunteers’ heads.

To raise money this month, staff have worn silly fancydress outfits loaned to them by Pure Party, have sold teddy bears donated by local children and on October 26 staff will be doing a 100 miles on an exercise bike outside the shop on Derby Road.

During Halloween week the E-Cigs Shop will be involved with the Spooktacular event run by Ashgate Hospice. The E-Cigs Shop was inspired by the death of a staff relative who lost his battle to lung cancer. It aims is to help people stop smoking.
