BAKEWELL: RBL Women’s Section hear a talk on Victim Support

Twelve members of the Bakewell branch of the Royal British Legion Women’s Section gathered in the courtroom of Bakewell Town Hall for their monthly meeting.

The meeting opened with the Act of Homage by the branch chairman Mrs Angela Swift.

The evening’s speaker was Hilary Allwright of Victim Support. She outlined the workof the organisation including how to become a volunteer.

The raffle was organised by Mrs Maureen Kreuger and winners included Mesdames J. Webster, E. Elliott, K. Daily and E. Jackson.

Refreshments were served by Mesdames Pheasey and Kreuger.

A detailed report was given on the National Conference in Eastbourne, attended by Mrs A. Swift, branch chairman, and Mrs L. Pheasey, the branch standard bearer.

The next monthly meeting is on June 25 in the Town Hall, starting at 7.30pm.
