The Old House Museum has opened for its new season with visitors being able to see six new museum-quality showcases displaying a miscellany of medical items, pills, potions and prescriptions.
Pen and ink, chalk and blackboards provide a beautiful display of how people used to write before the days of computers and tablets.
Early skates and historic leather shoes are on show as well as police memorabilia including handcuffs, truncheons and cat ‘o’ nine tails.
The award-winning exhibition Spirit of the Forties has returned hom to the Old House. There is a room full of memories of wartime Bakewell, heart-warming tales of heroism in war and stories on the home front.
