The Old House Museum, on Cunningham Place, off North Church Street, posted an ad on social media saying they were giving away parts of old unwanted mannequins to art projects and museums.

Manager Anita Spencer said: “There has been an overwhelming response with calls and emails coming in from Northumberland, Shrewsbury, Manchester and all over the UK.

“The only mannequin parts left are a pair of Adel Rootstein legs, which are quite rare and will be sold on eBay with the proceeds going to the museums funds. We are registered charity with tight operational budgets and this will really help us out.”
