More than two decades after the last school bell rang, former St Helena School pupils are reviving memories of their halcyon days.
Pupils of the all-girls school, on Sheffield Road, Chesterfield, are digging out their old school snaps ahead of a reunion planned for September 9 at Chatsworth.
Wendy Joel nee Harrison, was a student at the school – which is now a Derbyshire County Council building – between 1982 and 1987.
She said: “We always had such fun in those days!
“The reunion will be very informal, so bring your own lunch, with just a chance to get together and tell old stories.
“It would be lovely to see any fellow ‘pioneers’ and catch up. If you know of anyone who attended, please spread the word.”
To help jog the memories of her former classmates, Wendy has sent in some candid snaps of her grammar school days.
She said: “I dug out one of Mr Holmes A Level maths group from 1987. I am in the middle wearing the stripy jumper. I really loved that jumper!”
She added: “I will also be noble and volunteer a hideous one of me at 14 in school uniform.”
Anyone wishing to attend the reunion is urged to contact Wendy via email on email@example.com or visit the Facebook site for the school by searching for ‘St Helena School For Girls Chesterfield’.
