AROUND 400 people have been made redundant locally after administrators Deloitte failed to secure a takeover bid for Auto Windscreens.
The firm, one of Chesterfield’s biggest employers, which employs nearly 1,100 people across the UK, made the announcement to workers this afternoon (Friday).
The Hasland-based windscreen repair firm went into administration on February 14, suspending all operations.
Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire Chamber of Commerce is supporting an emergency rapid response event in a bid to help staff.
The event, which takes place at the Winding Wheel in Chesterfield next Monday, will assist the workforce in securing alternative employment.
