ASHOVER: WI members get an insight into aromatherapy

Have your say

The September meeting of the Ashover WI took place in the Bassett Rooms on Thursday, September 12.

The group listened to Tina Cox who is a qualified and registered omplementary therapist. She explained the origins of aromatherapy and how it promotes wellbeing, stimulates the body and encourages it to heal itself. Tina told members about the origins of the use of essential oils and how the oils are collected. Her practice was outlined and she explained how her use of massage and aromatherapy can be of benefit to sufferers of health disorders. Romy Rylance gave the vote of thanks.

The remainder of the meeting centred on business to do with future events and the money raised for charity by the WI tent at Ashover Show. Chairwoman Aileen Taylor thanked everyone for their hard work at the show.

Refreshments were served by Fay Slinn and Pat Asher.

A cookery book is being planned; members were co-opted to help with its organisation.

The branch will holds its next meeting on Thursday, October 10, at 7.30pm in the same venue.
