Run by the Market Co, two Artisan Markets are to be held on Saturday June 7 and Saturday July 5.

The scheme is part of a trial being organised by High Peak Borough Council and Buxton Town Team and the first market will take place on Spring Gardens, while the second will be held on the market place.

Whichever one of the two events works best will help decide where the market should be situated in the future.

The markets will run from 10am to 4pm on both days and will feature street food, crafts, speciality goods, arts and crafts, music, and artisan products.

The Market Co said: “We are currently selecting the very best artisan market traders from across Derbyshire and beyond to ensure we deliver an outstanding community event delivering the very finest, often award winning products to the visitors in Buxton.

“Our aim is to complement the retail offer and not compete, to bring something different to the high street.

“The market will have delicious, tempting foods and unusual, locally produced drinks, quirky, design-led crafts and creative, inspiring arts.

“The authentic street food arena will be filled with music and entertainment.

“It is our aim to attract people back into the town to showcase the permanent retail and leisure offering, encouraging shoppers to revisit even when the Artisan Market is not in town.”
