Appeal after runner injured in Matlock

Police issue image of man they would like to speak to in connection with an incident where a runner was injured in Matlock.

On Thursday, January 9 a man was running along Bank Road at 5.40pm when a man in a car opened his door and struck the runner.

The car was parked half on the pavement and half on the road.

The runner suffered injuries to his leg and required hospital treatment. The car owner took the man to Whitworth Hospital and then left.

The man was described as 6ft 4ins tall wearing beige trousers and a black t shirt.

Police would like anyone who recognises the man to contact them quoting RTC reference 4798. To report crime anonymously call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

The police have only just released this information.
