POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a man was knocked off his moped by a driver who failed to stop near Grassmoor.

The 22-year-old rider was taken to hospital after suffering a fractured wrist following the collision just after 5pm on Friday, March 30 on Birkin Lane, near Grassmoor.

Officers would like to trace the driver of a blue saloon type car, possibly a Ford Mondeo, which was last seen driving towards Temple Normanton.

Traffic had been building up in the area due to a separate collision involving a silver Ford Focus and Red Fiat Punto which happened at around 4.55pm also on Birkin Lane.

Anyone with information should contact PC 3241 Rachel March by calling 101, the non-emergency number for Derbyshire police.
