ALFRETON: Wesley Church appeal for goods for Super Sale

Members of Alfreton Wesley Church are appealing for items for sale at their next big fund-raising event.

They are planning a Super Sale at the church in Ellesmere Avenue on Saturday, October 5, between 10am and 12 noon.

Items needed range from household and fancy goods, china, glassware and bric-a-brac to clothing, cakes, books, toys, toiletries, pictures and small furniture items.

Church steward David Hopkinson said: “”We usually hold two sales a year, which attract huge crowds. But this year our spring sale had to be cancelled because of kitchen improvements at the church – so we are hoping for a bumper amount of goods to sell this time.

““We are willing to accept most items, except alcohol, electrical goods and furniture without a fire certificate.””

The sale will be in aid of church funds. The church has recently carried out large-scale improvements to make the building more suitable for use by disabled people. In addition, the church supports a wealth of different charities and good causes each year.

Mr Hopkinson said: “”We usually get long queues forming well before the start of the sale and we are hoping for the usual turnout this time. There are sure to be lots of bargains on offer.””

Anyone who can offer goods for sale should ring 01773 833627.
