Well over £1,000 was raised for church funds by a “Super Sale” at Alfreton Wesley Church on Saturday. Church members and friends manned stalls and served refreshments.
Items on sale ranged from household and fancy goods, china, glassware and bric-a-brac to clothing, cakes, books, toys, toiletries, pictures and small furniture items.
Church steward David Hopkinson said: “We were very pleased at the turnout and the amount of money raised. Some of the customers were queuing outside from 8am and the sale didn’t start until 10am”
The church organises two of its giant sales each year and the next one is likely to be in the spring.
