ALFRETON: Inner Wheel Club welcomes business founder

President Sue Curley opened the August meeting of Alfreton Inner Wheel, welcoming members and the speaker, Elaine Anderson.

Sue also welcomed Iris Fawcett into the club as a transfer from Barrow in Furness and presented her with an Alfreton badge.

After dinner Sue introduced the speaker Elaine, who told how she came to set up a business called ‘Hearts and Homespun’ making handcrafted soap, bath, body and baby products.

Elaine demonstrated making ‘bath bombs’ and gave each member a sample of handcrafted soap. Rita Green gave a vote of thanks on behalf of the members.

The business meeting followed with the president reporting on her activities since the last meeting.

She also gave an update on members who are ill.

Correspondence was read and officers gave their reports. Members were reminded of

forthcoming events.

The speaker at the next meeting will be Carole O’Connor, the chairman of Inner Wheel District 22.
