ALFRETON: Heritage Trust rolls out plans for events

At the last meeting of the Alfreton and District Heritage Trust, it was reported that Paul Nicholls is working alongside The Media Archive of Central England to put on a film evening.

The chairman, Richard Roughton, is helping with the new Interpretation Boards which are being put in strategic places around Alfreton.

The 20th anniversary weekend is to be held on July 6 and 7 this year. Details to be announced later.
The new website at www.alfretonheritage.org.uk is now fully accessible.

The trust’s stall at the Swanwick Victorian Market on Saturday, November 17, is to go ahead. Paul Nicholls, Graham and Rachel Walker will man the stall.
A few of the remaining Jubilee mugs will be on sale.
Martyn Hart is to look into the suitability of the Hilcote Country Club for the next yearly dinner to be held in April.

The Heritage Centre is open every Sunday afternoon and it is free to come in though gifts are welcome. The centre is in the Old Chapel in the graveyard on Rodgers Lane in Alfreton.
