The 1082 Brimington and District Squadron Air Cadets has put out an appeal to attract new members aged from 12 to 17.

The branch is set to host an open evening for anyone who may wish to join, on March 6, from 7.30pm to 8.30pm.

This event will provide an insight into the activities that anyone can get involved with. This includes flying/gliding, target shooting, adventure training, BTEC qualifications, sports /watersports, drill and ceremonial parades, climbing and much more.

With opportunities to go overseas all over the world, and fly in aircraft that are off-limits to civilians, this is something not to be missed.

Air cadets is a great way to build new friendships as well as develop team work and leadership skills.

A spokesman for the squadron said: “All are welcome and you can just drop in for a no obligation chat. We’re located on Chesterfield Road, opposite St Michaels Nursing home/ Riverside Motors. For any queries, or if you need help finding us, email 1082@aircadets.org or call 07817232571.”
