The Derbyshire, Leicestershire & Rutland Air Ambulance was called to Alfreton this morning to treat a man who had fallen from height.

The air ambulance crew received the call at 11.05am, arriving on-scene at 11.21am.

A man in his 60s had fallen from a ladder while trimming a tree. He had sustained an injury to his leg.

The air ambulance crew worked with East Midlands Ambulance Service (EMAS) to assess and treat the patient who was given advanced pain relief and sedated.

He was then taken by land ambulance, with an air ambulance crew member travelling aboard, to Kings Mill Hospital.

His current condition is unknown.
