COMINC Relief has arrived, and today, people across Derbyshire are getting their creative caps on to raise money for the cause in a whole manner of weird and wonderful ways.
And perhaps no more so, than the staff at Oxfam, Chesterfield, who are attempting to cycle 3500 miles to Africa - from the comfort of their store.
The volunteers, aged 14 to 89 are each taking turns on exercise bikes in the window of the shop on Knifesmithgate.
“Having exercise bikes in the window is definitely a talking point for customers,” said Sophie Redman, the shop’s manager. “Some of them have come in and helped us - we have had 43 people take part and we are somewhere around Algeria at the moment!”
The team have raised £400 for Comic Relief, but there is chance to donate, or take part, until the end of today (Friday).
