Woman punched by man demanding money

A WOMAN with her child in a pushchair was punched and robbed of money as she walked along a footpath in Ripley late on Saturday night.
The incident happened at 11.15pm on the path which runs from Peasehill to Quenby Lane.

The victim was approached from behind by an unknown man who demanded cash and then punched her - causing injury.

The man then ran off in the direction of Waingroves with the money.

He is described as a white male in is late 20s with dark tidy hair and clean shaven.

He was wearing a black jacket with silver reflective stripes down both arms and dark trousers.

Police have appealled for anyone with information about the attack to contact DC Potts at Ripley CID on 0845 123 3333 quoting the incident number 1053 September 6.
