Proud police officers were presented with long service awards for their dedication and commitment during their time with Derbyshire Constabulary.
Chief Con Mick Creedon presented the officers with long service and good conduct medals after 22 years’ service and they also received a Derbyshire Police Federation commemorative pen.
These included Sgt Edward Bartko, of Chesterfield, Sgt Mark Lo
mas, of Alfreton, and Ripley officers Insp Andrea Goddard and Sgt Malcolm Savidge.
County support officers Det Con Craig Hughes, Pc Chris Bond and county operation officers Sgt David Richard-son, Acting Insp Gary Rigby and Pc Jim Sutton were also honoured.
Sp Con Adrian Marson, of Clay Cross, was awarded a medal for nine years’ service and Sp Con Matt Ramsden, of Bakewell, received a bar ribbon towards a previous long-service honour.
Chief Con Creedon also presented former officer and Ripley-based John Clarke, who now reviews files for court hearings for the force, with a Crystal Award of Derwent glass for 40 years’ police service.
Derbyshire Constabulary also presented £500 awards to special constables Mark Thornley, of Alfreton, and Simon Valentine, of Clay Cross, for their commitment.
Sp Con Thornley was acknowledged for catching a thief and tracing a wanted man and Sp Con Valentine was recognised for launching a campaign to stop drink-driving during the festive season.
