BNP wins two seats in Amber Valley poll

The British National Party won two seats on Amber Valley Borough Council in the local elections on Thursday.
Cliff Roper and Lewis Allesbrook unseated Labour in Heanor East and East - and another of the BNP candidates, Paul Snell, lost by one vote in Heanor and Loscoe.

Labour lost three seats on the night and the council now comprises:

Conservatives: 29 (+1)
Labour 14 (-3)
BNP 2 (+2)
