Rising snooker star Adam Duffy has pocketed a top award.
The teenage Eckington ace has scooped the prestigious Paul Hunter scholarship award for the year 2008/2009 season.

The scholarship was launched in the wake of the unfortunate death of Paul 18 months ago and it will help pay for Adam to train full time at the World Snooker Academy in Sheffield.

Adam received his award from former world champion Cliff Thorburn.

Meanwhile, Adam has demonstrated his prowess with thecue by reaching the final of the English U19 event.

In the semi, he twice came from behind to defeat Stephen Cragie 5-4.

Adam will play for the title against Ben Harrison at the World Snooker Academy in Sheffield on Saturday.
