ALFRETON Town boss Nicky Law is looking for his side to 'go out and do it all again' as the Reds begin the second quarter of the season's fixtures at home to Droylsden on Saturday.
The Reds sit comfortably ninth in Blue Square North having been defeated just once in the opening ten games of the campaign.

A similar points total or better from the next ten games would set up a very interesting second half of the season, partic
ularly with the Reds sitting just three points outside the play-off places.

Law will be hoping his side can also begin the second quarter of the season's fixtures with a win having beat another Tameside club, Hyde United, in the opening game of the campaign.

However, Droylsden are unbeaten on their travels in the league with four draws from four games and the Impact Arena has been a happy hunting ground as the Bloods have won all three previous encounters in Blue Square North.

Among the visiting players will be former Reds midfielder Ashley Burbeary.

With six goals in just eight starts and three appearances from the bench, Alfreton striker Leo Fortune-West is a man very much in form.

Leo has so far outscored recognised prolific hitmen Terry Fearns (AFC Telford United), Danny Holland (Harrogate Town) and Andy Brown (also Telford).

Meanwhile, Law will be without right back Simon Marples for around a month.

The former Doncaster Rovers and Chester City defender suffered injuries to a knee and ankle during the first half at Shepshed last Saturday.

Law will have striker Liam Hearn available again for Saturday's home league game against a Droylsden.

Alfreton Town's Football in the Community is staging a 'Kick-up challenge' during half time of this Saturday's home game against Droylsden.

Prizes will be available for the winners of each age group on the day who can keep a football up the longest.

Entry is just 50p for three attempts and entry to the competition can be made by contacting Football in the Community officer Scott McCabe prior to the game on 07792 116708, emailing him on scotty_dcfc@hotmail.com or by obtaining in a registration form from him on the day from 2pm in the Reds Bar on the ground.

Alfreton's reward for winning 2-1 at Shepshed Dynamo last Saturday is a mouthwatering third qualifying round home tie against Derbyshire rivals Ilkeston Town.

The game will take place on Saturday, October 11, with a 3pm kick-off at the Impact Arena.

A terrific match is in prospect with Ilkeston – under new manager David Holdsworth – currently top of the UniBond Premier Division.

The Robins have already thrashed Matlock Town 4-1 in the first qualifying round and won 3-2 at Corby-based Stewarts and Lloyds last Saturday.

Alfreton could consider themselves somewhat fortunate to edge last Saturday's second qualifying round tie at UniBond first division south high-flying hosts Shepshed.

But it's goals that count and Leo Fortune-West and Brian Cusworth hit the target, the latter in the 93rd minute to take the Reds through the second qualifying round for the first time in three seasons and also earned the club a valuable £4,500 in prize money.
