ALFRETON Town manager Nicky Law is delighted at the progress he and assistant Russ O'Neill have made so far as they bid to strengthen early for next season.
The Reds boss said: "We have been really busy over the past couple of weeks and we are now at advanced stages of negotiations with several targets."
Although he was keeping his cards close to his chest, Law is confident he will land the majority of those targets.
The Reds boss has all but concluded arrangements with a wide player, two defenders a striker and midfield player.
There is also a good possibility of another defender joining from a league club.
He obviously still has work to do but thinks he will just need a goalkeeper and proven goalscorer which would give him eight new faces for the new campaign.
Meanwhile, Law has added two more home pre-season games to his plans and Macclesfield Town will be the first visitors to test the newly-laid Impact Arena playing surface when they arrive on Saturday, July 26.
The game against Keith Alexander's side will evoke memories of the FA Cup first round tie against the Silkmen back in November, 2004. Kick-off will be 3pm.
Newly-relegated Mansfield Town will make the short journey to the Impact Arena on Tuesday, July 26, with the game kicking-off at 7.30pm.
A trio of home games will conclude with the visit of Kevin Blackwell's Sheffield United on Friday, August 1.
Off the pitch work continues apace and there isn't a single day that goes by that the stadium isn't being developed in some way.
The club are looking to introduce car parking at the Bentley Avenue entrance end and the club is currently deep in negotiations with Amber Valley Borough Council to broaden its boundaries as the club attempts to gain training facilities.
The changing rooms are also currently being gutted and refurbished.
l The club will be announcing admission and season ticket information next week for what looks to be the most difficult season at Conference North level yet.
Alfreton Town FC invite applications for the vacant post of Football in the Community Officer.
Applicants for the full time role will need to hold coaching qualifications and will represent the club in the community within a busy in-school and after-school programme.
All enquiries in the first instance should be directed to Lisa Towerzey on 01159 3920-90 extension 107.
