Bolsover District Council has been bowled over by the efforts of cricketers at Glapwell.
The council has presented the Stepping Stones award to Glapwell Cricket Club in recognition of its strong links with local schools and groups, use of properly qualified coaches and volunteers and its sustainable development plan to take the club forward.

This award prepares the club for the next hurdle of applying for the nationally acclaimed Sport England Clubmark award.

The club completed the checklist which also ensures it has plans in place to progress as well as providing a safe and secure environment in which adults and children can enjoy the sport.

Cllr Ann Syrett, Bolsover District Council cabinet member for social inclusion, said: "This is a club that is well established and has very strong links within the community.

''This award acts as a symbol to any existing and new members that the club is committed to providing good quality sporting activities within an enjoyable and friendly atmosphere."
