Gladiators march to opening win

Grassmoor Gladiators U14s gained their first win of the season in style with an emphatic 9-1 victory over Chesterfield Town.
Kier Polyczinski scored a four-timer and other goals came from Ryan Brown (2), Sam Tozzi, Jack Bunting and Shaun Carter. Town's scorer was Conor Cronin.

It was lucky 13 for Arkwright U11s as they swept to a 13-0 win over Sheepbridge to make it fou
r wins out of four. The goals came from captain Josh Davies, Ben Lomas, Callum Kay and George Maude.

In the clash of the day in the U12 Rowsley Division One the two Brampton teams standing first and third in the league faced each other.

With both teams having 100 per cent records something had to give and a tight game was won 1-0 by Brampton Boys with Nathan Greaves scoring the matchwinner.

Brampton Rovers U12s SDJSL met Maltby Miners Welfare in the cup and the sides were all-square 5-5 after extra time but Maltby won 2-1 on penalties. Scorers were Josh Adams (3), Ashley Barker and Tom Davis.

Rovers U14s went through to the next round of the cup beating Birley Spa 3-2. Reece Nuttall (2) and Jordan Styring were on target.

Rovers U15s SDJSL were knocked out of the cup, going down 5-2 to Middlewood. Connor Roberts and Jake Thompson were the scorers.

Rovers U16s lost 4-1 on penalties to Nether Green after the teams had been all-square 2-2 at the end of extra time. Dave Brent and Charlie Scattergood were the scorers.

Rovers U10s SDJSL lost 5-3 to Worksop Boys. Ellis Dixon, Harry Hipkiss and Harry Wilson were the scorers.

Rovers U11s Rowsley lost 4-3 to Wirksworth Colts with Jason Bradley, Alex Ramsey and Niko Raine on the scoresheet.

Brampton Rovers U13 Girls suffered an unexpected defeat, losing 7-2 to Steel City a team they had already beaten twice. Evie Hall and Georgia Ball were the scorers.

Doe Lea U14 Girls beat Glossop North End 9-5 with hat-tricks from Chloe Cannon and Ellie Shaw and a brace from Vicki Slaney while Anna Whitford scored her first-ever match goal!

Somersall Blues U13s continued their winning streak with a 9-1 win over Dronfield Town U13s. There were two goals apiece for Jake Grisdale, Elliot Miller and Curtis Webster while Jake Hemingway, Jack Whibberley and Myles Taylor all hit the target once.

Somersall Rangers Yellows U13s were edged out 4-3 by Shirebrook. Their scorers were Lewis Wilson, Oliver Walker and Jack Lyon.

Chesterfield Blues U9s gained a 7-0 win against Carr Vale Colts. Harry Dudley led the way with four goals and the tally was completed by Stephen Knellor, Jake Wilbourn and an own goal.

Chesterfield Blues U11s beat Wirksworth 4-0 in a cup match and drew 3-3 with Welbeck.

Chesterfield Blues U14s drew 1-1 with Buxton Pumas. Scorer was Sam Baird.
Handley Wood JFC U9s drew 2-2 with Wingerworth Eagles. Scorers were Alex Parker and Harry Ford .

Handley Wood U11s gained a 5-2 cup victory over Rawmarsh with goals by Thomas Savage, Ben Edgson, Sammy Hawes, Max Hunt and Liam Bath.

Handley Wood U12s went on the rampage with an 11-0 away victory against Dronfield Rangers. On the scoresheet Aiden McTighe (4), Andy Carlile (2), Sam Kelly, Josh Brown, Casey Martin, Nathen Greaves and James Evans.

Handley Wood U13s went down 3-2 to Throstles. Wade Harris scored both goals and Zac Collins won the match award.

Handley Wood U14 and Bramley Sunnyside fought out a 4-4 draw with the Handley Wood goals being shared by Greg Fizpatrick, Lewis Ozcan, Regan Edridge and Nat Jessop.

Handley Wood U15s suffered a 4-1 cup defeat against Killamarsh. Scorer was Mitch Hutton.

Rowland Carter hit both goals as Handley Wood U16s beat Sheffield Wednesday Young Owls 2-0.

Tapton U14s drew 0-0 with Wingerworth Villa U14s. Man of the match was awarded to Jordan Maskery.

Old Whittington U13s beat Burbage 4-0 with goals by Lewis Weaver (2), Alex Flint and Tom Pike.

Old Whittington U16s drew 1-1 with Bridge Street. Scorer was David Brent.

Spire Rangers U12s lost 2-1 at home in the cup against Ashleigh Wednesdayite. Spires' goal was scored by Kai Harding.

Spire Rangers U13s beat Charnock Ridgeway 4-1 at home in the cup. Jason Alexander bagged a hat-trick and the other marksman was Luke Smith.

Spire Rangers U16s romped to a 8-2 away win in the cup at Thorncliffe Juniors. Lewis Hayward led the way with a four-timer and the other scorers were Luke Slater (2), Bradley Jones and Danny Bradbury.

Brimwood United U9s lost 2-1 to Barlborough Juniors. Scorer was Dom Millward.

Brimwood U12s lost 4-0 to Burbage.

Brimwood U13s enjoyed a 7-4 cup victory over Sheffield Sixes with goals by Jordan Morley (2), Jake Levers (2), Nathan Gallagher (2) and Oliver Thomas.

A depleted Brimwood U14s side slumped to an 8-2 defeat at the hands of Matlock Tigers. Nathan Hughes hit both goals.

Brimwood U16s lost 5-2 to Sheffield FC in the cup. Matt Bower scored both goals.

Kane Conroy hit a hat-trick as Brimwood U18s overcame Wingerworth Athletic 6-4. The other goals came from Luke Hemstock (2) and Simon Ashall.
