If you go down to the woods today, keep a look out for two little babes....they’re wanted to appear in this week’s panto to be performed by Tansley Players.

Joyce Leaney has rewritten the script for the third production of Babes in the Wood, which runs at Tansley Village Hall from Wednesday, February 6, to Saturday, February 9.

The cast features old and new faces to play the various characters. The evil money-grasping Sheriff of Nottingham (April Saunders) plans to use his henchmen (Charlotte Gale) and (Jackie Pearson) to dispose of the Babes (Mia Lucas & Poppy Lacey) and plans to marry off Maid Marion (Molly Watts) to the wretched Sir Justin de Bieber of Belper (Chris Gale) . His plans are thwarted by the gallant Robin Hood (Chloe Arbury) with the help of his Merry Men and the Babes’ Nurse (Lee Brandrick) helped by Bo-Bo the Bear (George Watts).

Choreography is arranged by Lynne Byrne and musical direction comes from the stalwart Bill Templeman.

Audiences are promised fun, laughter and a variety of songs with lots of audience participation - oh yes there is!

Tickets are £6 for adults and £3 for children and may be obtained by calling Bev Oates on 582154 or by e-mailing tansleyplayers@gmail.com
